Single-Vehicle Accident Reported With Unknown Injuries

A single-vehicle crash with initially unknown injuries was reported late Tuesday night on NY-283 near Five Corners Road in the Black River area, according to dispatch radio traffic. Black River Fire and Black River Ambulance were dispatched at 10:48 p.m. to the scene, while dispatch also advised that OnStar had reported an injury crash involving one occupant and airbag deployment. Radio traffic indicated that any available law enforcement unit in the area was also requested.

As the response developed, Black River Ambulance was updated that the crash involved one female occupant with a reported head injury who wanted to be evaluated. Black River Fire Engine 6-1-1 responded, and Black River Ambulance 61-9-1 arrived on scene first at about 10:53 p.m., followed by the engine at 10:55 p.m., responders reported over the radio.

The incident remained active for just over 50 minutes. According to radio traffic, the ambulance cleared the scene at 11:28 p.m. after a patient refusal or sign-off, and Black River Fire returned to service at 11:39 p.m., bringing the incident to a close.
