Possible Outdoor Burn Reported Near Rural Property

Three Mile Bay Fire and Theresa Fire were dispatched Tuesday evening to investigate a reported outdoor fire near the Three Mile Bay area, according to dispatch radio traffic. The initial call sent Three Mile Bay Fire to the area of Mile Point Road near Stone Quarry Road shortly after 7:25 p.m. for a possible outdoor burn. A second activation for Three Mile Bay followed minutes later, with dispatchers describing the incident as someone burning leaves near a rural property. Around the same time, Theresa Fire was also dispatched and re-paged for an outdoor fire in the area of Creek Road and Dano Road.

As the response developed, Theresa Chief 42-0-3 advised over the radio that he was responding, and later reported the fire appeared to be going out. Responders then indicated crews could remain in quarters after the chief found what was described as a large bonfire and addressed the matter directly with the property owner. A subsequent update clarified that the source of the complaint was a small campfire ring burning firewood just over the Three Mile Bay line in Alexandria, and Theresa units were returned to service.

Three Mile Bay tanker 44-4-2 also responded and arrived on scene at about 7:38 p.m. A few minutes later, Three Mile Bay command reported the complaint was a backyard cook fire and that everything was OK, according to radio traffic. The incident was cleared at 7:44 p.m., about 19 minutes after the initial dispatch.
