Emergency Call Dispatched to Bayview Manor

Cape Vincent Ambulance was dispatched at 5:02 p.m. to Bayview Manor on State Route 12E in Chaumont for what dispatch radio traffic described as an unknown problem. According to radio traffic, first responders were requested and patrol units were already en route. Within moments, Chaumont first responders were added, and a New York State Police trooper was requested after reports that a woman had collapsed.

Responders reported the call was quickly upgraded as additional information came in, including that the patient had been found in a hallway, taken back into an apartment, and then became unresponsive. A Priority 1 mutual-aid request was relayed through Guilfoyle EMS, but patrol units soon advised that EMS could enter directly. Cape Vincent Ambulance arrived on scene at about 5:05 p.m. and then reported it was on scene as the paramedic unit, allowing Guilfoyle to be canceled and returned to service.

According to dispatch radio traffic, Cape Vincent later transported from Bayview Manor to River Hospital at 5:32 p.m. and arrived there at 6:04 p.m. After clearing the hospital at 6:20 p.m., the ambulance was reassigned to a separate call on Bay View Drive. Dispatch then advised that a medical alarm associated with the Bayview Manor incident was determined to be a false alarm, and the original incident was cleared at 6:22 p.m.
