Possible Water Rescue After Boat Found Flipped

A possible water rescue was dispatched in the Town of Lyme on Tuesday afternoon after a flipped boat was reported in the water near 11461 County Route 125, according to dispatch radio traffic. Chaumont Fire, the STAR Team and Cape Vincent Ambulance were sent to the area, where the initial report indicated the boat was overturned and no one was seen nearby.

During the response, Chaumont command advised it was responding on Fire Tac 3. Dispatch then relayed that the boat might be the same vessel that had not been recovered from an earlier water rescue, and responders said they were checking the report. Cape Vincent Ambulance arrived on scene at about 12:23 p.m. as crews continued to investigate.

A few minutes later, Chaumont command confirmed over the radio that the flipped boat was connected to the earlier incident. According to radio traffic, the ambulance was then released from the scene, and the incident was cleared at 12:26 p.m. The response lasted about 11 minutes.
