Deer strike on Route 3

A property-damage traffic accident involving a vehicle and a deer was reported Tuesday morning on State Route 3 at Riverbend Drive East, according to dispatch radio traffic. New York State Police and Clayton Police Department were involved in the response after dispatch aired the crash at about 6:20 a.m. and advised that another law enforcement unit was needed.

Responders treated the incident as a deer-strike crash with no radio traffic indicating injuries or a roadway closure. Within minutes, dispatch reported the scene had been cleared with a report completed. The incident was closed at about 6:22 a.m., ending a response that lasted roughly two minutes.
