Carthage helicopter landing zone established

Carthage Fire established a helicopter landing zone in Carthage on the evening of the incident, coordinating for a Mercy air medical aircraft to arrive behind the fire station. The response was classified as a moderate-severity landing zone operation and remained active for about 20 minutes.

According to radio updates, firefighters set up the landing zone shortly after 6:09 p.m. Crews marked hazards in the area and blocked the roadway as the aircraft approached, helping secure the site for a safe landing. No additional agencies or escalations were reported during the operation.

The incident was cleared at 6:30 p.m., concluding the landing zone assignment after the area had been secured and the response completed.
