Landing Zone Requested for Incoming Aircraft

Carthage Fire established a helicopter landing zone in Carthage on Sunday evening after a request for an incoming aircraft, according to dispatch records. The incident began at 6:01 p.m. and involved Carthage Fire personnel responding to their station to prepare the site for the aircraft’s arrival.

Dispatch advised responders to use Fire Tac 7 for air-to-ground communications as the landing zone operation got underway. Within a minute, radio traffic indicated the landing zone had been established. At 6:03 p.m., an update reported that Mercy Flight was en route with an estimated arrival time of eight minutes.

The operation concluded at 6:14 p.m., when radio traffic confirmed the Mercy helicopter had landed at the Carthage landing zone. The incident was then cleared after about 12 minutes.
