Low-Hanging Wires Reported Near Residence

Henderson Fire responded to a utility emergency late Sunday morning after low-hanging wires were reported near 12156 County Route 71 in the Town of Adams, near Brody Road and Gilman Road. The incident was dispatched at 11:35 a.m. and classified as a moderate-severity utility call.

After the initial dispatch, Henderson Fire was activated a second time at 11:42 a.m. for the same location, indicating a repeat page to ensure response. Rescue 25-6-1 arrived on scene at 11:50 a.m., followed moments later by Engine 25-1-1. Crews then reported a ground line hanging about 8 feet above the roadway near pole 7.

Fire personnel requested National Grid to respond and advised that County Route 71 would be shut down in the immediate area because of the hazard. No fire, arcing, or additional agency involvement was reported in available radio traffic. The incident was cleared at 11:52 a.m., 16 minutes after the initial dispatch.
